Product Introduction
PEEK CRANIAL REPAIR SYSTEM
The PEEK cranial repair system adopts a three-dimensional embedded repair design concept, which completely changes the traditional covering repair mode. This innovative design allows the PEEK prosthesis to be accurately embedded in the bone window like a puzzle, perfectly restoring the patient's original skull curvature and achieving three-dimensional reconstruction of the defect area13. Unlike the surface coverage of titanium mesh, the embedded design allows the edge of the prosthesis to fit tightly with the bone window, avoiding the problems of edge warping and loose screws that are common in traditional repair methods. After implantation, the patient's scalp feels natural, without the bumpy feeling common in traditional titanium mesh repairs. It is especially suitable for repairing defects in weak subcutaneous tissue areas such as the temporal region.
Excellent Biomechanical Properties: The elastic modulus is closer to that of the skull, which provides better stress sharing and reduces the impact of stress shielding. It has good toughness and can absorb energy to a certain extent when subjected to impacts, thus avoiding secondary damage to the skull and brain tissue caused by deformation without rebounding.
Ocompatible and Bioinert: Non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, non-mutagenic, non-carcinogenic, hydrolysis-resistant and non-allergenic. Possessing excellent high-temperature stability, it can adapt to various disinfection methods such assteam sterilization. The PEEK material is highly inert. Even when implanted for a lifetime, its performance remains intact.
Outstanding Imaging Performance: Non-conductive, ensuring no artifacts appear under MRI scans. Free of X-ray artifacts, without affecting subsequent follow-up examinations.
Precise Anatomical Reconstruction: Personalized customization, CT reconstruction, and CAD/CAM planning ensure an accurate match with patients' anatomical structures. It meets the requirements for highly complex and large-scale repair.
Direct fixation by connecting plates with multiple model sizes to meet diverse clini-cal requirements.
The extended flange ears of the cranial plate ensure stable installation and safety.
The connecting plates are designed with a low-profile and sunken structure, which conforms to the curvature of the skull, reduces tissue compression and results in a natural and beautiful appearance after surgery.
The design of cross-slot holes facilitates convenient suspension of the temporal muscle.
The low-profile design of the screw holes on the cranial plate reduces the irritation to soft tissues.
The single-hole hanging slot design is conducive to the stable suspension and fixation of sutures.
Indications
Large skull defects (diameter >3cm), especially those in aesthetically sensitive areas such as the frontal, temporal, and parietal regions, PEEK's precise shaping capabilities can restore natural facial contours.
Complex craniomaxillofacial defects, including those with irregular bone defects such as the periorbital, zygomatic, and maxillary bones, PEEK's three-dimensional reconstruction capabilities allow for precise restoration of complex anatomical structures, which is difficult to achieve with traditional titanium mesh.
High aesthetic requirements, such as young women and those in the performing arts professions, PEEK restorations can avoid aesthetic defects such as visible scalp contours and localized depressions after titanium mesh restorations.
Neurological conditions requiring postoperative imaging follow-up, such as those undergoing brain tumor surgery who require MRI monitoring for recurrence and those with epilepsy who require follow-up EEGs, PEEK's artifact-free nature ensures the accuracy of imaging examinations.
Metal allergies, PEEK, as a high-molecular polymer, completely eliminates the potential for metal allergies associated with titanium alloy implants.
