Application:The stub nail is used for internal fixation of femoral intertrochanteric fracture and high subtrochanteric fracture. The long nail is used for internal fixation of low subtrochanteric fracture, femoral trochanteric fracture, femoral trochanter combined ipsilateral femoral shaft fracture, and pathological femoral fracture.

Product Introduction

PFNA (Proximal Femoral Nail Antirotation) Intramedullary Nail is an orthopedic implant system designed primarily for the surgical management of proximal femoral fractures, including intertrochanteric, subtrochanteric, and basilar neck fractures, particularly in osteoporotic patients. 


Features

● Penetrates into the femoral head to assist in providing anti-rotation support for the lag screw, reducing the risk of lag screw head cut-out.
● Classic trapezoidal deep-thread design ensures smooth insertion, provides compression to the cancellous bone of the femoral head, and is compatible with patients of various bone qualities.
● Stepped thread design accommodates patients with a narrow femoral neck.
● 5° lateral offset and 1500 mm anterior bow for an optimal match with the physiological anatomy of the Chinese population.
● Optional dynamic or static locking to meet different clinical requirements.
● Distal design disperses stress, reducing pain and the risk of periprosthetic fractures.



Advantages

1. The intramedullary nail can control the axial force line of the fracture site; the locking intramedullary nail is more effective in preventing fracture rotation and reduces the risk of intramedullary nail fracture.

2. The closed nailing technique is adopted, with less soft tissue stripping, the fracture site can be left unexposed, and the infection rate of the operation is reduced.

3. The closed nailing retains the fracture hematoma and reduces the damage to the periosteum blood supply. At the same time, the debris generated during the expansion of the medullary can be deposited at the fracture site, which has an autologous bone grafting effect.

4. The intramedullary nail generally does not need to be removed. Even if it needs to be removed, only a small incision is made at the corresponding part of the locking nail and one end of the intramedullary nail.

5. There is a stress dispersion effect between the intramedullary nail and the damaged bone to avoid stress shielding.
