Product Introduction

The AToM Medical Scar Gel Sheet works through a physi-cal mechanism to improve scar appearance. It minimizesmoisture loss, shields the tension from epidermal tissue,and applies mild local pressure to the scar, thereby reduc-ing blood perfusion on the scar surface. These combinedeffects help inhibit scar hyperplasia and promote scar fading.

Scar Formation

During the wound healing process, the newly formed,immature stratum corneum has a limited water retentioncapacity. Excessive moisture loss stimulates fibroblasts toproduce and secrete large amounts of collagen, resultingin disorganized collagen fibers. This leads to the forma-tion of uneven, discolored scar tissue. Once a scar devel-ops, skin tension can further promote its outward expan-sion, increasing its size and worsening its appearance.
