Model Number: 109010
Material: PEEK
Application: Cervical interbody fusion
Product Introduction
The Self-Stabilizing Cervical Interbody Fusion Cage is composed of a PEEK (polyetheretherketone) cage with tantalum radiographic markers and titanium alloy screws. Available in various lengths, widths, and heights, the cage is implanted between cervical vertebral bodies and secured with screws to provide immediate postoperative stability.
Its biomechanical design is based on the distraction-compression stabilization principle, which allows the implant to resist rotation and shear forces while transmitting axial loads. This creates a stable environment that supports segmental stability and promotes bone fusion.
As an intervertebral spacer, the cage restores disc height, maintains annular tension and natural cervical curvature, and facilitates anterior column reconstruction. While it offers early mechanical stability, ultimate success depends on osseous fusion—which the cage supports by allowing sufficient graft volume and interface area.
Features
● Provides immediate postoperative stability, restores disc height, and maintains cervical alignment.
● Hollow central structure allows for bone grafting to enhance osseous fusion.
● Zero-profile anterior design—entirely within the intervertebral space—minimizes the risk of postoperative complications such as dysphagia and adjacent segment degeneration.
● Radiopaque tantalum markers aid intraoperative positioning and postoperative imaging evaluation.
● PEEK elasticity modulus is close to that of bone, reducing stress shielding and enhancing fusion potential.
● Excellent fatigue resistance and biocompatibility, suitable for long-term implantation.
● X-ray transparent and MRI compatible, ensuring clear imaging with no artifacts.
● Anti-backout mechanism: screws lock securely to the cage via snap-ring engagement with the anterior plate.
Advantage
● Available in multiple size options (length, width, and height) for patient-specific needs.
● Elastic modulus of PEEK approximates natural bone, minimizing stress shielding and promoting fusion.
● Radiolucent design with radiopaque markers ensures easy visualization during and after surgery.
● Zero-profile implantation eliminates the need for an anterior cervical plate, minimizing surgical time and reducing postoperative dysphagia.
● Fewer screws required, enabling minimally invasive procedures with smaller incisions and reduced soft tissue disruption.
● Simplified implantation reduces operation time and surgical trauma, leading to fewer complications.
Application
The device is indicated for use in spinal fusion procedures to:
● Treat cervical disc herniation
● Address disc degeneration and intervertebral space narrowing
● Stabilize the spine following failed cervical disc surgeries or postoperative instability
It must be used in cases requiring anterior cervical interbody fusion with or without prior surgical history.
